Food Truck Supervisor

About the role

Slows Bar Bq is seeking a Food Truck Driver and Supervisor to manage mobile operations during the summer season. This role requires a combination of commercial driving precision, staff supervision, and customer service management.

Responsibilities

• Driving & Logistics: Safe operation and navigation to and from scheduled events.
• Supervision: Oversee truck staff and daily operations to ensure efficiency and brand standards.
• Service & Sales: Manage the cash register/POS system and interface directly with guests.
• Culinary (Preferred): Proficiency as a cook is preferred; however, candidates focused on management and front-of-house operations will be considered.
• Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle and service areas are kept clean and meet health safety regulations.
• Safety: Perform daily safety checks on all equipment

Requirements

• Must have an impeccable driving record
• Prior food truck experience required
• Previous experience driving large delivery vehicles and/or box trucks is required
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Exemplary time management and organizational skills
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly

Slows Bar Bq opened in Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood, in 2005. 20 years later Slows operates that original flagship location, Carryout & Catering restaurant Slows To Go in Detroit's Midtown, as well as Slows Bar Bq Ann Arbor and Slows Bar Bq Berkley. Slows also has a food truck and runs gameday stands inside Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Little Caesars Arena.
