FOOD TRANSPORTER/DELIVERY DRIVER (FULL TIME)

Location: 200 Broadway, New Hyde Park, NY 11040

Schedule

• Full-time
• Sunday: 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
• Monday through Thursday: 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm

Pay

$22.00 per hour to $24.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a company truck or van to transport food, beverages, supplies, and other products to assigned locations accurately and on schedule.
• Verify orders for accuracy and completeness, safely load products for transport, and efficiently unload deliveries at each destination.
• Maintain proper handling and temperature standards for perishable products while following all company sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety procedures.
• Use handheld technology to place orders, track inventory, document deliveries, and maintain accurate product counts while following FIFO procedures.
• Provide friendly, dependable service at each delivery location while communicating effectively with customers, warehouse teams, and coworkers to maintain high service standards.
• Pick up requisitioned supplies from staging clerk.
• Receive completed production orders from staging clerk and inventory items to ensure completion.
• Load orders onto truck with assistance of staging clerks in a safe, orderly manner.
• Unload requisitioned materials at delivery site.
• Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment.
• Ensure hot and cold food items are kept in compliance with company standards and meet all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Collect empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise.
• Responsible for general cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
• Perform routine maintenance on truck.
• Interact with coworkers to ensure company service standards.
• Provide quality customer service via one-on-one attention to detail.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous driving experience required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have a valid state driver's license and a valid food handler's permit where required.
• Valid driver's license, ensuring safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
