Food Services District Manager

About the role

The Food Services District Manager oversees the dietary department in multiple skilled nursing facilities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This role requires strong leadership, quality assurance, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients to ensure satisfaction with services provided by Yona
• Trains workers in dietary procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipment
• Supervises and evaluates the quality of work completed by Food Services Directors and Supervisors
• Forecasts and plans the purchase of supplies and equipment
• Interviews, hires, and orients Food Services Directors and Supervisors for facilities in the district
• Maintains proper staffing levels at each facility
• Manages a cost-effective program to attain financial goals for each facility in the district
• Conducts regular management staff meetings and communicates with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities
• Ensures the department operates within federal, state, and local regulations
• Acts as a Cook or Dietary Aide as necessary

Requirements

• Achieved Associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality
• At least two years of experience in long-term care preferred
• Experience in supervising food service operations
• Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP)
