FOOD SERVICES ASSOCIATE II - NELSON (FT)

About the role

This is a FLSA non-exempt position. The incumbent has responsibility for providing support under the Food Service III to include food preparation and service. The incumbent reports to the Program Manager II. Carrying out position duties requires knowledge of food services, food preparation skills and experience working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Incumbent will work independently with ongoing direction and supervision provided by the supervisor. The incumbent will perform within accordance with applicable professional ethics and established Region Ten policies and Department of Social Services regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide support under Food Service III including food preparation and service.
• Work independently with ongoing direction and supervision from the supervisor.
• Adhere to professional ethics and comply with Region Ten policies and Department of Social Services regulations.

Requirements

• Experience working in a kitchen, preferably in a long‑term care setting.
• ServeSafe certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred; required for food delivery and use of agency vehicles (must also have valid personal automobile insurance and an acceptable driving record as issued by the DMV).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of specific state, local and federal regulations in food service; safe food handling; universal precautions; and customer service.
• Skills in cooking techniques and food preparation; working collaboratively; cooking/baking/catering; communication; maintaining a hygienic environment.
• Ability to follow a set schedule; learn and follow established procedures; work independently without constant supervision; work at a quick pace to complete duties timely; model a professional attitude; work effectively with the food service team; make sound judgments.

Pay

Hourly salary range (Grade 6): $15.79 – $23.69
