FOOD SERVICE WORKER (Full-Time w/ Benefits)

About the Role

Performs various tasks involved in the preparation, serving of food, and maintaining cooking/serving equipment while keeping areas clean and orderly. May also operate a cash register.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cold sandwiches, fruit and vegetable salads; slices meats, cheese, and bread; prepares assorted beverages.
• Washes, cuts, scrapes, chops, dices, and peels raw fruits and vegetables for cooking.
• Prepares a limited variety of fast foods using a grill, microwave oven, and/or deep fryer.
• Places pizza shells in oven, monitors readiness, and cuts pizza pies into prescribed portions.
• Removes pre-prepared frozen dough cookies from refrigerator and bakes them following specific instructions, including basting with egg and adding toppings.
• Sells bakery products, including cutting large cakes into requested sizes or weights.
• Sets up serving counters by sorting and stacking dishes, glasses, and silverware; arranges salads, desserts, and beverages.
• Stocks condiment stands, self-service milk and ice cream cabinets, and hot and cold drink dispensers.
• Removes soiled dishes from tables, carries them to the kitchen, and washes/sterilizes flatware, glassware, dishes, and cooking utensils by hand or machine.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition, adhering to sanitary rules and regulations.
• Serves customers at the counter, takes orders, and serves food and beverages according to prescribed portions.
• Operates cash register, computes charges, collects and accounts for cash.
• Assists with stocking deliveries from vendors and re-stocking service refrigerators and freezers.
• May assist in training associates, requisitioning food items, receiving merchandise, and taking inventory.
• May open and/or close the location.
• Adheres to customer service standards, including maintaining a neat appearance and wearing a uniform/name tag.
• Exercises tact, courtesy, and good manners when assisting customers, suggests substitutes, and informs customers of specials.
• Provides prompt and friendly service, ensuring food items are presented attractively.
• Furnishes customers with register receipts and thanks them for their patronage.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Six months of experience performing various tasks involving the preparation and serving of food.
• Frequently lifts or moves objects up to 45 pounds.
• Required to stand constantly and walk in accomplishment of duties.

Working Conditions

• Work in areas that may be uncomfortably warm, damp, and noisy.
• Exposed to minor cuts, bruises, burns, and scalds.
• Risk of slipping on wet floors or where food/beverages have dropped.

Schedule

Full-Time (35+ hours)
