Food Service Worker FT ($19/HR + BENEFITS) - Sitka Pioneer Home

Responsibilities

• Assists residents as requested with general information, inquiries, etc.
• Obtains products requested by residents.
• Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Properly, safely, and efficiently prepares various food products following and observing standard food handling procedures.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
• Maintains a variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
• Stocks storage areas with various products.
• Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, etc. all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas (in some cases), spike rooms, and equipment as well as all floors.
• Supports an effective Safety Program.
• Removes garbage from assigned areas, sets up or breaks down tables, snack bars, display cases, serving lines, etc.
• Affords assistance with various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
• Affords assistance to cooks and others as needed and coordinates one’s own activities with other’s.
• May occasionally prepare food or cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Performs other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have Food Handlers Card or ServSafe contingent upon 30 days of hire.
• At least six (6) months of experience in the food service industry.
• Must have some knowledge of proper food service sanitation methods and equipment.
• This contract requires employees to have the following immunization: TB.
• The successful candidates must be willing to provide immunization records for this and/or be willing to take the vaccination if offered the job.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
• As part of the onboarding process for this contract you will be required to provide proof that you are free of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB).
