Why does the job exist?
This position will work as part the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (PSR) and is responsible for the daily operations of the Canteen and serving daily meals to clients of Community Based Services.
How does it get done?
- Manage the daily operations of the Canteen
- Provide customer service
- Purchase inventory
- Stock, make deposits, check requests, and maintain accurate records
- Ensure proper sanitation of food areas and equipment
- Serve refreshments and daily lunch to clients of the PSR program
- Follow all food handling safety policies and procedures
- Provide daily support to the psychosocial rehabilitation program as needed
Who are the customers?
Clients of the CBS PSR Program who experience behavioral health issues and employees of Community Based Services.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in customer service and working in the food service industry
- Proficient with handling money
- A solid understanding of the importance of safe food handling practices and sanitation of equipment
- Good interpersonal skills, empathetic, a team player, adaptable, and willing to learn
- Excellent time management skills and able to meet deadlines
Minimum Qualification
No prior experience or training required.
Employment Requirements
- Must possess a valid Drivers License
- Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate
Working Conditions
- Outpatient office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage
- Exposure to mentally and behaviorally challenged clients who may exhibit unpredictable and potentially violent behavior
- Standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reaching above head and shoulders as well as the ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds is required
