FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (ON CALL)

About the Role

We are hiring immediately for an on-call FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER position at Novant Health Medical Park Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. This role involves performing cashiering duties, general food service work, and maintaining sanitation standards in preparation, service, and dining areas.

Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator following safety standards.
• Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a service-oriented manner.
• Relays relevant information to the supervisor.
• Performs sales transactions, enters sales into the cash register, and handles payments.
• Issues receipts and follows procedures for cash refunds.
• Manages assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Replenishes condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous related experience required.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.00 per hour to $20.00 per hour.

Schedule

On-call schedule: 6:15 am to 2:15 pm, days may vary. More details upon interview.
