Overview
We are seeking a passionate Food Service Worker who can prepare and serve high-quality meals in a correctional setting. This role requires adherence to food safety regulations and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of quality foods according to assigned work instructions and menus.
- Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department policies and procedures.
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes.
- Maintain a clean work area by cleaning as you go, sweeping, mopping, and disposing of trash.
- Perform routine kitchen tasks, such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Qualifications
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is preferred.
Skills

- A solid understanding of food handling regulations.
