About the role
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks throughout the kitchen. This position will comply with all cafeteria, food and beverage regulation guidelines outlined in the facility Food Service manual. This position includes duties related to utility, food preparation, assembly tasks, and cafeteria duties. The patients' demographics range from newborn through children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. There is minimal access to patient health information.
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
- Previous experience in food service is desired
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time is essential
- Follow the compliance and standards required by food/beverage regulations outlined in the facility manual is necessary
- Ensure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements is mandatory
- Effectively communicate with all staff is crucial
Requirements
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic fitness test for the position, including standing, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for most of the day is required.
- Must be able to withstand heat and temperature changes while going in and out of refrigerated or freezer areas.

Part Time, 24 hours per week

- Follow “Meal Delivery” guidelines outlined in facility manual is required
- Follow “Utility” guidelines outlined in facility manual is mandatory
- Delivers the tray to the patient in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner, according to the trained script is essential
- Fills supplies when needed is necessary
- Serves customers, staff and patients with efficiency and in a courteous manner is crucial
- Records and files temperature on hot food items for each meal as required is mandatory
- Consistently ensure items are stocked when needed is essential
- Always ensure proper sanitation in areas in accordance with regulations is mandatory
- When assigned properly sets up dish machine, checking soap, rinsing solution and filling tanks is essential
- Always scrapes trays using disposable gloves, carefully checks trays to ensure that flatware and paper is not sent through disposal is mandatory
- Ensure set up for menu items are accurate and stocked is essential
- Ensure cafeteria tables, chairs and food area is clean is mandatory
- Assist with restocking when needed is essential
- Promptly report hazard and unclean areas is mandatory
- Assist with receipt reconciliation, cash drawer count and correct handling of sales when assigned is essential
- Perform other duties as assigned is mandatory
