About the role
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks throughout the kitchen, including utility work, food preparation, assembly tasks, and cafeteria duties. This position complies with all cafeteria, food, and beverage regulation guidelines outlined in the facility Food Service manual. The role serves patients ranging from newborns through children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with minimal access to patient health information.
Responsibilities
- Perform food preparation and assembly tasks
- Adhere to cafeteria, food, and beverage regulation guidelines
- Ensure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
- Effectively communicate with staff
- Maintain excellent customer service standards
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in food service desired
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for the position, including standing, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to withstand heat and temperature changes when moving in and out of refrigerated or freezer areas
Schedule
36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts.
