Food Service Worker-01 Int – 6803
Duties
- Performs various simple manual tasks such as setting up glasses, silverware, butter, condiments, salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on serving counter.
- Cleans tables of paper, other trash, or soiled linens, and wipes tables with a towel to remove crumbs or other food particles.
- Removes soiled dishes from tables and transports them to the dishwashing area.
- In the food preparation area: cuts, scrapes, chops, dices, and peels fruits and vegetables. Operates electric can opener, electric potato peeler, etc.
- In the dishwashing area: separates food waste and trash, scrapes and pre-rinses dishes, loads dishes in dishwasher, stacks and stores dishes, hand washes dishes, stacks and stores clean dishes, cleans cooking and service equipment, scrapes, cleans, scrubs, washes, or wipes equipment, drains and cleans coffee and tea urns, scrubs and scours worktables, cleans grease traps in sinks, removes garbage to collection points, cleans woodwork, windows, and displays counters, sweeps, mops, waxes floors, polishes dining area furniture, carries supplies between storeroom, kitchen and dining area, runs errands.
- Carries out specific instructions for new tasks from supervisor, completing duties in the same way each time.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and understand written material and follow instructions.
- Must be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines.
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
- Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.
Qualifications
No previous work experience required but must have the ability to read and understand written material and follow instructions.
