About the role

Apple Rehab Rocky Hill is a 100-bed skilled nursing center located in Rocky Hill, CT. The facility features spacious private and semi-private rooms, and the longevity of the staff fosters a family-like environment with regular picnics and activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of meals and snacks
• Cleanup of dining areas
• Aids in receiving, rotating, and storing of supplies and food
• Interacts with residents daily, serving them, cleaning work areas, washing dishes, pans, and utensils
• Ensures compliance with infection control, safety, and sanitation functions
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of food storage and work areas, and properly maintains equipment and supplies
• Handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations and reports violations to supervisor
• Prepares and serves meals for residents according to diet orders
• Works with the Dietary Manager to meet resident needs
• Assists with production planning and purchase/storage of food and equipment
• Utilizes kitchen equipment and adapts to special needs of residents
• Responds to residents' requests on short notice
• Plans and prepares for facility's special events

Qualifications

• Able to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights, lift up to 50 lbs
• Read, write, and understand English, perform basic math calculations, measure, and record data
• Show attention to detail, good follow-through skills, and ability to prioritize tasks
• Supervise and instruct others
• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred
• Cooperate in assisting others and work as a team
• Remain calm in stressful situations, demonstrate patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
• Communicate professionally with residents, staff, and family members
