Food Service Supervisor
About the role
The YWCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking a dedicated and organized Food Service Supervisor to lead our food service operations and help ensure residents and guests receive nutritious, high-quality meals every day. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys cooking, supervising staff, managing inventory, and creating a welcoming dining experience that supports our mission of empowering women and strengthening families.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support a team of food service professionals, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
- Plan nutritious weekly menus and oversee meal preparation, service, and kitchen operations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, licensing requirements, and health standards.
- Manage food purchasing, inventory control, storage, labeling, and product rotation.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, storage, and dining areas.
- Support special events, holiday meals, and agency-wide initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A valid driver's license with fewer than 3 points.
- A current ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent food handling certification.
- Knowledge of food allergens and dietary considerations.
- Dependable, flexible, and able to maintain professional boundaries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four years of food service experience.
- At least one year of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience working within nonprofit, residential, shelter, healthcare, or institutional food service settings.
Schedule & Physical Requirements
- This is a full-time, exempt position that typically works Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required to meet operational needs.
- The role requires standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasional local travel.
