Food Service Specialist

Lund’s Food Services department seeks a Food Services Specialist to help deliver thoughtful, nutritious meals to clients, staff, and guests in an inclusive and welcoming environment at our Residential and Treatment Center.

About the role

As a Food Services Specialist, you will assist the Food Services Coordinator in planning and preparing nourishing meals and snacks for clients, staff, and guests year-round. This role offers opportunities to engage with clients and support catering for holidays, events, and celebrations. You will share responsibilities for meal planning, waste control, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations while working as part of a team to foster an inclusive, healthy environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Food Services Coordinator to plan and prepare nutritious, creative, and economical meals and snacks, including alternative options based on dietary preferences and needs.
• Monitor residents in the kitchen at all times to ensure safety.
• Comply with all licensing and health department regulations and maintain required records.
• Communicate regularly with shift supervisors and residential counseling staff regarding kitchen operations, dining room logistics, meal times, and resident food needs.
• Receive and store large bulk food orders, including lifting up to 50 pounds and overhead lifting for proper storage.
• Work occasional irregular hours to meet the needs of a 24-hour facility.
• Occasional statewide travel may be required.

Requirements

• Strong practical experience in food service delivery and record-keeping.
• Self-motivated and creative thinker with good organizational ability.
• Ability to interact well with both staff and residents.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines, and demands.
• Ability to abide by all food and personal safety regulations.
• Ability to maintain access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to consistently demonstrate Lund’s values of collaboration, compassion, empathy, integrity, and respect.
• Successful completion of a background check (conditional for employment).

Pay

$22 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time, in-person, 24 hours per week at our facility in Burlington.
