About the role

The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of AVTEC, is recruiting for a Food Service, Lead position in Seward. This position is in the Labor, Trades, and Crafts Union (LTC) at a Range 56.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals for an average of 200 students per meal in the AVTEC Cafeteria.
• Maintain a clean work area and adhere to facility procedures for security, cleanliness, and serving.
• Delegated authority to change orders and assign work to Food Service Journey employees under direction of Food Service Foreman.

Requirements

This position is open to Alaska residents only. Applicants must meet Alaska residency requirements to be considered. The position requires knowledge of preparing and serving food, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Knowledge of preparing and serving food for consumption.
• Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations.
• Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others.
