Job Purpose

Every Huck’s Market Food Service Associate plays a key role in running the food service area smoothly and effectively. By following company guidelines, associates help keep the department profitable while delivering top‑notch quality food and customer service.

Responsibilities

• General
  • Ensure the food service department is open and ready for business during food service hours.
  • Give all customers prompt and courteous service.
  • Effectively communicate with store associates.
  • Follow all federal, state and local laws and ordinances pertaining to store operation.
  • Control food preparation to avoid waste while maintaining sufficient supply for customers.
• Human Resources
  • Treat all associates with dignity and respect.
  • Advise the store manager of any personnel situations or policy violations affecting performance.
  • Assist in training new associates on proper job duties.
• Security
  • Ensure all associate shift procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
  • Enforce safety rules and use of protective equipment.
• Merchandising
  • Ensure current plan‑ograms are being used.
  • Communicate special needs or requests to the manager.
  • Alert the manager about ordering merchandise to prevent out‑of‑stocks and maintain proper inventory levels.
• Huck’s Bucks Loyalty App
  • Actively promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers.
  • Communicate the benefits of signing up and using the app.
  • Monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
  • Assist customers with sign‑up, discounts, and redemption.
• Maintenance
  • Ensure food service appearance reflects company standards.
  • Keep all food service display cases and glass clean.
  • Report maintenance problems that cannot be corrected immediately to the store manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all food service areas and follow sanitation procedures.
• Safety
  • Ensure ladders are properly used.
  • Follow lifting procedures per company policy.
  • Use wet‑floor signs as required.
  • Report accidents promptly to the Store Manager and Corporate office.
