Food Service Expert

About the role

The role of a Food Service Expert at Target provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the guest experience and the efficient operation of the store. This role is designed to empower team members to deliver exceptional service and adhere to high standards of food safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, resolving issues, and thanking them.
• Monitor and adjust production to drive efficiency, profitability, and minimize waste.
• Execute Food & Beverage processes, including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, instocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing and storing reserve product.
• Follow proper perishable inventory procedures and monitor temperature-sensitive food items.
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
• Complete Pizza Hut training requirements and certifications related to quality control of Pizza Hut products (where applicable).
• Work independently and with a team, remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot and maintain attention to detail.

Requirements

• Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business.
• Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required.
• A welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.
• Ability to work in environments that will include refrigeration and freezer temperatures and conditions; where common allergens may also be handled or present.
• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties, including but not limited to Drive-Ups, carryout, etc.
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shifts (shift length may vary).

Qualifications

• Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
• Interpret instructions, reports and information.
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders if needed.
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.
