About the role
The Food Service Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of food service operations, including menu creation, food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and supervision of staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage menu creation and food preparations across all shifts.
- Cook or prepare food according to recipes, cut, trim, and bone meats, poultry, and fish.
- Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food items as needed.
- Supervise personnel engaged in preparing, cooking, and serving various types of food.
- Portion cooked foods and instruct workers on garnishing methods.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited culinary course.
- 5 to 7 years of related experience in food service management.
- Private Sector Chefs are preferred.
- Relevant professional experience may be considered.
- ServSafe Certification is mandatory.
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Full knowledge of diverse cooking techniques, such as Mexican and Italian cuisine.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of working in austere environments and locations.
