Food Service Director

About the role

The Food Service Director plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of a large food service operation within a secure correctional facility. This position oversees the kitchen's operational and financial responsibilities and supervises an Assistant Food Service Director and/or a team of Food Service Supervisors and/or Cooks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of a large food service operation.
• Oversee the kitchen's operational and financial responsibilities.
• Supervise an Assistant Food Service Director and/or a team of Food Service Supervisors and/or Cooks.
• Manage and apply kitchen sanitation and safety standards and methods.
• Manage and apply basic accounting and mathematical abilities to complete necessary reports.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Five years of management or supervisory experience in a food service environment.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• ServSafe Certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills

• Knowledge and experience managing and applying kitchen sanitation and safety standards and methods.
• Basic accounting and mathematical abilities to complete necessary reports.
