Food Service Director

About the role

Bishop Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking a Food Service Director to oversee all aspects of food service operations in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and inspect the work of Food Service Staff.
• Schedule and assign staff; prepare department payroll for data entry if required.
• Supervise the storage and care of food and supplies.
• Oversee the cleaning of the kitchen, storage, dining areas, and equipment.
• Inspect Residents' trays for consistency with the specified menu.
• Assist on the tray line at mealtimes when requested.
• Coordinate and plan food preparation activities for special events.
• Handle ordering and purchasing of food and supplies.
• Provide staff training and orientation.

Requirements

• CDM certification preferred.
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Service experience in Long-Term Care settings strongly preferred.
• SERV Safe or Sodexo certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
• Solid leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
