Food Service Cook - Sacred Child

Responsibilities

  • Plan a menu utilizing the guidelines of nutritional requirements for Children.
  • Oversee preparation of meals and snacks for the children.
  • Purchase food supplies within a prescribed budget to execute the menu.
  • Ensures the planned meals and snacks are approved by the Sacred Child Director in a timely manner.
  • Keep an inventory of food supplies and utilize existing supplies in the menu planning so that there is minimal waste.
  • Execute the planned menu by preparing lunches and dinners on the weekend and dinners when on shift.
  • Utilizes proper methods of handling foods to be stored.
  • Cover, label, and date all suitable leftovers for storage.
  • Maintains the facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Ensure that kitchen appliances are maintained and in good working order.
  • Other duties as assigned to maintain/enhance the operation of the Sacred Child department.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of nutritional requirements for children.
  • Ability to plan and prepare meals and snacks.
  • Experience in managing food supplies and budgets.
  • Good organizational skills to manage inventory and leftovers.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and maintenance.
