Responsibilities
- Follow safe food handling, preparation, and storage techniques that comply with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Follow recipes and prepares foods that correspond to menu cycles prepared by Dietician.
- Continuously cleans food service work areas as food prep and service is done, including but not limited to dishes, utensils and serving equipment.
- Uses food supplies and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Prepares and maintains supply of food substitutes to accommodate resident choices, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences.
- Handles, stores and disposes of food supplies and prepared food in accordance with department procedure and with state and federal regulations.
- Commitment to caring for patients and partners.
- Proactive, collaborative team member in a long-term care environment.
- Respect and professionalism towards your colleagues in the workplace at all times.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
- One (1) year institutional food service experience as a cook.
