Food Service Cashier / Server role focused on customer satisfaction and accurate cash handling in a cafeteria setting. On-the-job training provided.
Responsibilities
- Perform cash handling procedures.
- Prepare, stock, and serve snacks, desserts, and grab-and-go items.
- Set up and tear down cafeteria meal stations for each meal service.
- Provide allergy information and explain ingredients and preparation methods to customers.
- Assist with food preparation, including operating food production equipment.
- Refill condiments, snacks, beverages, desserts, salad bar, and hot food items throughout the day.
- Participate in stocking and organizing food and supplies within the department.
- Clear, clean, and sanitize tables and work stations.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers, returning them to appropriate locations.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and process improvement activities.
- Meet all competency assessment performance criteria within two months of hire.
- Support the Nutrition Services team by training for additional duties such as dishwashing, cleaning, stocking supplies, and salad preparation.
- Work closely with other staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet patient, customer, and department needs.
Qualifications
- No minimum qualifications required; on-the-job training provided.
- Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Preferred: ServSafe Certification.
- Preferred: Prior work experience in retail sales or food service cashiering.

Schedule
- Requires regular and sustained attendance.
- May necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
- On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
