Responsibilities
- Assemble patient trays and deliver/retrieve food trucks from patient floors.
- Pass patient trays to patients (excluding red-dot trays).
- Assist with scraping, washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Deliver food supplies to different areas of the hospital as needed.
- Perform any duty assigned within the food and nutrition department.
- Deliver food trucks to appropriate nursing units at designated meal times and retrieve them according to department policies.
- Understand HASAP and proper food handling as part of safety programs.
- Participate in all staff meetings to support department goals and objectives.
- Adhere to department policies and procedures.
- Use time efficiently, maintain a clean work area, and follow the "clean as you go" method.
- Operate, load, and clean dish machines; record operating temperatures on the temperature sheet in the morning.
- Set up patient trays and nourishments by assembling prepared food and beverages in a timely manner.
- Work in the cafeteria, ensuring correct pricing when cashing out customers according to the price list.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Four weeks to become proficient with on-the-job training.
