Food Service Associate - Jefferson Einstein Main - Part-Time (20 hours)Eve

About the role

The Food Service Associate reports to the Supervisor of Food Service and works under the guidance and input of the Lead Food Service Associate. The role involves ensuring patient meal and food service to meet high standards of patient satisfaction. Patient ages range from infancy to late adulthood.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in alignment with Jefferson’s values.
• Sets up and stocks assigned stations before and after service to enhance efficiency.
• Retrieves patient meal trays to ensure timely and safe service.
• Maintains appropriate floor stock and records usage accurately.
• Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages and prepared foods according to recipes and guidelines.
• Stores leftovers properly and utilizes them in subsequent days to maintain freshness.
• Packages, labels, and dates hot food items according to established guidelines.
• Maintains proper care and safe storage of food, equipment, and the surrounding area.
• Completes daily and special cleaning tasks to ensure a sanitary and safe environment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to interact positively with co-workers, visitors, and other staff.
• Attention to detail for maintaining appropriate floor stock and accurate records.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Ability to prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages and prepared foods.
• Basic understanding of food storage and packaging techniques.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to various work environments.
