About the role
The Food Service Assistant position at Good Samaritan Society - Specialty Care Community involves monitoring and recording proper food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and receiving payment for food and beverages using a computerized register. Other responsibilities include operating various kitchen equipment and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities

- Clean and sanitize equipment
- Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register
- Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers
- Provide outstanding customer service and communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers
- Establish effective working relationships
- Maintain quality control standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money, and knowledge of food service preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- Basic math skills
- On-the-job training will be provided
Qualifications
- Preferably, experience working in the food industry
- Possesses ability to work independently when necessary
- Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes
- Demonstrates ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances
Skills

Pay
$18.13 - $22.33 per hour
Schedule
Varies, typically shifts are from 2:15 PM or 4:15 PM, occasionally 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, and every other weekend rotation.
