Food Service Assistant PRN

Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Food & Nutrition Services Assistant to join our team at HCA Florida University Hospital. This role involves performing a variety of tasks including delivering, picking up of patient trays and menus, recording patient consumption, maintaining diet checklists, and completing daily reports.

What You Will Do

• Prepare food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing, and mixing various food items.
• Operate dishwasher or assist with washing/sterilizing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, pans, etc.
• Clean kitchen work areas, collect and dispose of garbage.
• Absorb food stock as needed.
• Serve food in cafeteria for visitors and staff and in patient room.
• Work in the dish room when needed.
• Work on patient tray assembly line following menu directives for determining food items for each tray.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months food service experience preferred.
• Previous experience in hospital food services preferred.
