Food Service Assistant - Part Time
About the role
The Food Service Assistant plays a crucial role in providing quality food service to residents in a Christian environment. This position is part-time, working 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Maintain proper temperature of food
- Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area
- Prepare and serve food items
- Restock food areas
- Clean and sanitize equipment
- Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register
- Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators and freezers
- Comply with HACCP guidelines for food service
- Provide outstanding customer service and communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Maintain quality control standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money, and knowledge of food service preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- Basic math skills
- On-the-job training will be provided
Qualifications
- Preferably, experience working in the food industry
- Possesses ability to work independently when necessary
- Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes
- Ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances
Skills
- Customer service skills
- Equipment operation (grills, beverage machines, etc.)
- Food safety and sanitation knowledge

Pay
$15.00 - $22.50 per hour, with a $2,500.00 SIGN ON BONUS!
