Food Service Assistant - Outfoods
About the role
Caswell Developmental Center is seeking an enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to function in the out-foods area of Dietary Services. Job responsibilities include labeling supplements, preparing bedtime snacks and food items for meals, modifying food textures, assisting with preparation of food served at campus functions, and serving as the out-foods lead person, on a rotating basis, in the absence of the supervisor. Other responsibilities include serving in the rotation at the Sandbar Cafe, utilizing menu item preparation and cash register operational skills while displaying optimal customer service. General cleaning is also a requirement of this job.
Responsibilities

Requirements
The preferred candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., stoop, bend, stand and walk carrying pans of food for a short distance. Daily exposure to food service equipment with temperature below 50 degrees and above 140 degrees.
Qualifications
This position requires the ability to learn food preparation and cleaning procedures, perform moderately heavy physical labor for extended periods of time, maintain high standards of personal cleanliness and food sanitation, maintain professional and cooperative working relationships, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and keep some routine records.
Skills and Abilities

Pay
Salary Range: $31,200.00 - $48,810.00
Schedule
Work Location: Dietary Services
Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (hours vary as needed, every other weekend off)
