Food Service Assistant

Position Summary
The Food Service Assistant is responsible for assisting in all food preparation and supporting kitchen operations within CTI’s Child and Family Services Division.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Aid in preparing snacks and meals for centers, satellite sites, and meetings as needed, including dietary modifications.
- Set up, deliver, pick up, and break down of meal carts.
- Maintain all necessary CACFP (Child Adult Care Food Program) logs.
- Pack food and supplies for satellite sites as needed.
- Maintain clean work areas including prep tables, storage spaces, refrigerators, and stoves, and trash removal in accordance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans and run dish machine.
- Assist with inventory, including receiving inventory, stocking of shelves, dating, and labeling.
- Support with unloading of delivery truck.
- Maintain strict food safety and personal hygiene standards.
- Attend regular food service meetings and mandatory food service trainings.
- Follow compliance regulations for local state and federal CACFP.
- Uphold the values of CTI – Equity, Integrity, Compassion.
Qualifications
- General knowledge of food preparation and nutrition.
- Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Recent Physical and MMR immunity.
- Ability to pass CORI and background check which includes fingerprinting.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-year previous experience in food service operations.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Khmer, English/Portuguese).
