Food Server-Giada-Steady Extra (The Vanderpump Hotel LV)
About the role
The primary responsibility of the food server is to provide prompt, courteous service to all guest room patrons. The Food Server ensures guests are satisfied with their dining experience by engaging them in a professional and genuine manner, inputting orders accurately into the POS terminal, and creating beverages accurately and timely while maintaining a genuine, cheerful demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Arrive at work on time, fully dressed, clean, and prepared with all the proper work cards, credentials, and uniform.
- Prepare the restaurant for daily service and alert management of any maintenance issues or missing product.
- Perform all opening, closing, and side duties required of a food server position.
- Greet guests using the 10’/5’ rule and engage guests in cheerful, genuine conversation.
- Deliver the proper steps of service in the correct sequence.
- Accurately input all orders into the POS terminal.
- Accurately post all transactions on the POS terminal, giving correct change; account for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedure; maintain integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
- Prepare all food and drink to order in accordance with established recipes, time guidelines, and guest specifications.
- Understand and execute the artisanal coffee beverage program.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant before, during, and after the shift.
- Maintain an appropriate level of stock items in the area, alerting the manager of any missing or limited product, including but not limited to food, supplies, and retail.
- Keep the designated working area clean and organized.
- Engage with guests professionally and genuinely by maintaining cheerful conversation and delivering required service.
- Depart the restaurant on time after completing all designated functions for the day.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Common knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices preferred.
- Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, in a professional manner.
- Neat and professional appearance.
- Professional interactions with customers, co-workers, and management.
- Professional teamwork with other co-workers.
- Nevada Food Handlers’ Certification.
- Alcohol Awareness Certification.
- Union Referral.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work and quickly maneuver inside.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to stop, bend, and lift objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
- Must be able to speak English clearly.
