About the role

As a Food Server Assistant at Nemacolin, you will work in a team environment that creates excitement for the resort's guests and members. You will provide extraordinary guest service, showcase an ability to go above and beyond in all situations, and exercise good judgement while utilizing interpersonal skills and luxury hospitality standards to create a world-class dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Actively build and retain guest relations, acting as direct support to servers throughout service.
  • Serve guests in various environments, including water and bread service.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the manager, such as side-work and cleaning, including duties outside of the daily-weekly checklist.
  • Create a genuine dining and beverage service experience, following all SOPs, resort standards, and guest expectations (e.g., phone etiquette, personal appearance, timing and attendance, guest interaction, and verbiage).
  • Demonstrate strong preparation skills, including setting up workspace for shifts, following health regulations, preparing sidework stations, folding napkins, and safely maintaining daily sidework throughout service.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including specific outlet areas, the dining room, and guest view spaces.
  • Possess accurate menu knowledge of cocktails, liquor, beer, wine, and food menus, including allergens.
  • Assist other associates during service, such as food runners and hosts.
  • Operate the RMS – SevenRooms application to assist with seating guests, if needed.
  • Notify management of hazardous conditions.
  • Obtain and maintain a RAMP certificate, adhering to state safety regulations and laws regarding alcohol management and service.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and maintain composure in high-volume situations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a guest service role.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to lift at least 15 lbs.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Customer service experience preferred; restaurant experience a plus.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including holidays, weekends, and evenings.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks effectively.
  • Professional demeanor when interfacing with business contacts and customers.
  • Understanding of the hospitality industry is helpful.
