Responsibilities
- Develop and refine new food product formulations based on customer specifications and manufacturing capabilities
- Create bench samples and support iterative product development activities
- Plan, coordinate, and lead plant trials and first production runs
- Partner directly with customers regarding product expectations, feedback, and commercialization timelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, QA, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams
- Manage specification documentation and formulation updates
- Support ingredient change controls and raw material approvals
- Coordinate shipment of samples, finished goods, and raw materials as needed
- Provide technical expertise related to food science, ingredients, and manufacturing processes
- Support multiple manufacturing facilities on product development initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, or related field required
- 5+ years of food product development or food science experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ingredient interactions, formulations, and commercialization processes
- Experience supporting plant trials and scaling products from bench to production
- Knowledge of food safety and quality systems
- HACCP training preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in both office/lab and manufacturing environments
- Valid driver’s license required
