About the Role
Lead Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) technicians, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with all food safety and quality-related functions. Collaborate with quality departments and plant leadership to maintain a safe work environment and produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications. Align with Food Safety and HACCP teams to uphold regulatory and customer standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain work and operational areas to meet or exceed internal and external quality and food safety demands.
- Participate in customer work groups to maintain appropriate relationships.
- Assist with product specifications at intervals that ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.
- Ensure associate compliance with FSQA programs, policies, and procedures to meet or exceed guidelines set by regulatory agencies, customers, and GFSI.
- Oversee the quality team’s execution and adherence to Crown Bakeries’ Food Safety and Quality programs, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain quality records and data to facilitate efficient information flow to plant leadership and customers.
- Prepare for and participate in customer and regulatory audits to achieve superior audit scores and compliance, maintaining or gaining approved supplier status.
- Gather and document information for investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, change control, and corrective/preventive actions, ensuring timely follow-up and effectiveness through trending.
- Communicate quality information to supervisors or managers through reports, meetings, and presentations on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Provide plant management with accurate data regarding the company’s quality performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of statistical and analytical problem-solving procedures (preferred).
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, food quality testing, and safety issues.
Work Environment
This role operates in a production plant, shipping area, and office environment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. Routine use of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, is required.
