Duties and responsibilities
- Aid in the smooth operation of the department by supporting management.
- Lead and verify that SFQA Technicians adhere to all quality procedures, inspections, and laboratory tests to ensure product specifications are met or exceeded.
- Support management in monitoring and training staff on good manufacturing practices (GMP) to ensure food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards.
- Routine internal audits such as GMP, Glass and Brittle Plastic, Pre-op, etc.
- Accurately report data and daily HACCP documents for compliance with Food Safety & Quality Programs, including Certificates of Analysis.
- Manage inventory of chemicals, PPE, and supplies needed by the FSQA Team.
- Collect, inspect, prepare, analyze, interpret, record, and report analytical results, and take corrective action when necessary.
- Conduct food safety and quality checks at specified intervals.
- Review and file paperwork.
- Provide initial and ongoing quality and GMP training to quality inspectors and the general employee population.
Requirements
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English, with bilingual skills a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- The ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to lead, train, and coach employees effectively.
- Permanent status required for internal applicants.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Education/Certification
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- An associate degree preferred.
- HACCP certification preferred.
Working Conditions
- Work in a noisy, wet, and cold environment with temperatures ranging from 34-38 degrees Fahrenheit.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50+ pounds.
- Able to perform bending, squatting, standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling for 8-10 hours per day.
- Able to engage in repetitive motions throughout the shift.
