Food Runner- Pool & Beach

About the role

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is looking for a Food Runner who is an excited, qualified, hard-working individual with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior guest service. The Food Runner is responsible for assisting waitstaff and ensuring customers receive a superior dining experience at our Pool and Beach venues.

Responsibilities

• Uphold company policies and procedures, including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines.
• Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Ensure all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled, dated, rotated, and discarded to maintain quality control.
• Provide prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to guests.
• Perform opening side work and set up station.
• Attend and participate in training sessions and department meetings.
• Deliver professional and exceptional food and beverage service.
• Serve wine and alcohol with awareness.
• Set up the front line with small wares, plate ware, and equipment needed to effectively serve all food items.
• Keep the station restocked, clean small and large trays, and manage tray stands.
• Read order tickets and place them onto the ticket minder.
• Track cooking times on all food orders and check them for plate presentation, appearance, and proper doneness.
• Garnish finished entrees according to restaurant procedures and specifications.
• Assist servers as needed to improve the dining experience of guests.
• Perform all side work in the front and back of the restaurant as scheduled or assigned by management.
• Deliver orders to guests’ tables while the food is still hot and notify waitstaff when orders are ready.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry.
• Multitasking skills to ensure guests receive their orders quickly.
• Organizational skills to easily locate bar patrons and tables to fulfill orders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain on their feet for several hours.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm under stressful situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
