Food Runner/Busser
Responsibilities
- Maintain a helpful and service-oriented customer service approach at all times
- Bus and clean tables, maintaining a "clean as you go" team environment
- Deliver food from the kitchen to the customer’s table quickly and safely
- Ensure food arrives as soon as it is ready and at the proper temperature
- Monitor customer tables, refilling drinks timely and without being asked
- Collaborate with hostesses, bartenders, cooks, and servers to create a pleasant dining experience
- Set up tables before, during, and after shifts to prepare for diners
- Address customer complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Assist the dishwasher as needed to maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
- Use professional language with customers at all times
Work Environment
This job entails frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, and extreme cold. There is also frequent contact or immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry, seafood, and produce items.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform this job. While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and stand. The employee frequently reaches, bends, stoops, shakes, stirs, pours, carries, pushes, and lifts objects up to 30 pounds. There is substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with occasional schedule variations. Hours may change throughout the year to accommodate business needs.
Requirements
- One year of prior restaurant experience
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere
- High school diploma or food safety training
