Responsibilities
Food Runners are vital to providing the Nando’s experience. They ensure that food reaches the correct guest in a timely manner, transport food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate table and announce the food to the guest. While maintaining a smile, they clean, set and re-set tables continuously, assuming responsibility for their station, tables and side duties. Runners work with the team to exceed guests’ expectations and deliver the Nando’s experience.
Requirements
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge
- Knowledge and comprehension of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- Basic English language and professional communication skills required
- Able to independently lift up to 15 lbs for extended periods
- Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs with food items and dishes throughout the shift
- Must be able to walk and/or stand for 8–10 hours per day
- Hand‑eye coordination
- Reaching, bending, twisting, stooping
- Pushing and pulling
- Lifting overhead
- Ability to climb stairs in restaurants with multiple levels

Pay
Current pay ranges for this position (varies by location):
- Washington, DC: $18.40 – $20.00 per hour
- Virginia: $13.00 – $18.00 per hour
- Maryland: $15.00 – $19.00 per hour
- Illinois: $15.00 – $19.00 per hour
- Georgia: $13.00 – $18.00 per hour
- Texas: $13.00 – $18.00 per hour
Actual compensation will be determined based on work location, experience, and internal equity. Pay ranges are provided for information purposes and may be updated based on market conditions, business needs, and applicable laws.
