Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Line Lead to oversee day-to-day operations of our Roast production line. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading large teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and will ensure optimal productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee smooth operation of assigned production lines, ensuring equipment runs within parameters and all workers are correctly positioned and prepared for duty.
  • Motivate and lead team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Train new workers on their station in the assembly line, provide necessary assistance, and fill in for absent team members as needed.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations to maintain compliance.
  • Monitor the quality of products on the line, ensuring all products produced meet accepted specifications. Verify correct labeling and adherence to job requirements.
  • Maintain consistent communication with QA and USDA to meet product specifications.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each production run.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and management about production progress, changes, or issues.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for line equipment, perform necessary cleaning, and uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in all production areas.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes, suggesting and implementing enhancements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Set up daily production, coordinate the availability of supplies, and materials.
  • Liaise with Production Supervisors, Operations Manager, and Maintenance teams for problem-solving and breakdown resolution.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring all equipment throughout the departments runs smoothly.
  • Provide positive feedback for good results and safe performance, fostering a supportive work environment.

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of experience in a warehouse or production environment is a must.
  • Additional experience in the food manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role within a production setting is mandatory, ideally within food production.

Skills and Abilities

  • Able to fluently communicate, read, and write in English is a must; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient in operating and troubleshooting fixed plant food processing equipment.
  • Familiar with ERP systems, RedZone, and proficient in using electronic tablets for data entry and communication.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on managing and guiding team performance.
  • Ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety standards, and company policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Capable of maintaining sensitive information in a confidential and discreet manner.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as necessary.
  • Possesses strong people leadership skills, focusing on interactive engagement and guiding performance.

Working Environment and Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

$16 - $19 per hour
