Food Prep Assistant - Part Time

About the role

The Food Prep Assistant prepares all food items at one of our RV resorts. In this role, you will also be responsible for cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining the kitchen and surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Perform shift opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Ensure an adequate amount of food supplies are available for shift; restock products as needed throughout shift.
• Maintain kitchen and cooking areas and ensure kitchen equipment and food storage areas are clean, sanitary, and organized as required by the Health Department Rules and Regulations.
• Report any kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to manager.
• Prepare food ordered by guests using a variety of kitchen equipment (grills, ovens, fryers, meat slicers, food processors, etc.), including general preparation of salads, sandwiches, desserts, and other items as directed.
• Prepare or direct the preparation of all necessary condiments; move food items from main cooler to the appropriate cooler location.
• Portion and wrap food, or place directly on plates for service to guests, ensuring proper presentation and quality standards.
• Communicate with the kitchen and food and beverage team members to ensure quality and accuracy of orders.
• Assist with dishwashing, including running the dishwasher and/or sanitizing throughout shift.
• Assist with various duties such as kitchen set-up and take-down, removing trash, and other miscellaneous cleaning duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some High School Education (Required)
• 6 months in previous restaurant and/or food preparation experience (Preferred)
• Must be able to pass the Safe Food Handler Certificate Program within 60 days from date of hire
• Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation and presentation
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet

Required Certifications/Licensures: Safe Food Handler Certificate Program within 60 days from hire date.

Pay

$17 per hour
