About the role
The Food & Beverage Supervisor position at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium is an immediate opening for a leader in privately managed public assembly facilities. Key responsibilities include interviewing, training staff, managing budgets, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Interview, train, and supervise F&B staff including captains, servers, bartenders, and concessions personnel.
- Assist in maintaining budgeted goals, ordering products, and managing par levels.
- Maintain equipment through cleaning and scheduled maintenance.
- Manage cash handling procedures.
- Design food service areas, concession signage, and displays.
- Ensure adherence to service requirements and inventory control procedures.
- Supervise part-time staff, contracted staff, and guests in concessions and catering areas.
- Monitor in-house events and address client requests, concerns, and problems.
- Attend relevant meetings and direct staff for proper cleaning techniques.
- Act as Department Manager or Manager on Duty for events, including banquets, backstage catering, and concessions.
- Conduct monthly inventory and manage labor costs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Food and Beverage management, with catering management experience required.
- Proven track record of exceeding customer service and quality standards.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
- Strong customer service orientation and team player attitude.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Consistent attention to detail and excellent organizational, planning, and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid Louisiana Drivers License.
- Shreveport ABO Card, Louisiana Responsible Vendor Permit (LACT), and Serv-Safe Certification.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ADP, Excel, and Word.
