About Our Property

The Marriott Phoenix Chandler, located in Chandler—a Southeast suburb of Phoenix—is the newest Full Service Marriott in the state of Arizona! Featuring 264 guest rooms and over 21,000 sq ft of event space, this hotel has the largest ballroom in Chandler, AZ! Within the hotel, Proof ’19 features handcrafted cocktails, local beers, and Southwest cuisine. We Proudly Brew Starbucks Café serves a morning pick-me-up and a variety of breakfast options. The hotel features modern décor and is situated within the Price Road Corridor, near some of Arizona’s largest employers, including Fortune 100 & 500 companies.

Responsibilities

Managing Day-to-Day Food & Beverage Operations

  • Lead and oversee daily operations for restaurants, bars, banquets, and room service, as applicable.
  • Supervise, coach, and support Food & Beverage associates and leaders.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of all Food & Beverage positions and be prepared to step in and assist during high-demand periods.
  • Ensure service, cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
  • Review staffing levels and schedules to ensure guest service needs, operational requirements, and financial objectives are met.
  • Monitor daily operations and adjust staffing and resources as business levels change.
  • Assist with menu planning, product quality, presentation, and overall outlet execution.
  • Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Monitor alcohol service and ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Support proper cash handling, inventory control, purchasing, and cost management practices.

Leading the Food & Beverage Team

  • Lead by example and demonstrate Marriott and Pyramid Global Hospitality standards of professionalism, integrity, and genuine hospitality.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Build trust, respect, and strong working relationships with associates and leadership.
  • Coach and mentor associates to improve performance, product knowledge, and service skills.
  • Identify training needs and implement training plans to support departmental goals.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold associates accountable for meeting service and performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Food & Beverage policies, standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Maintain open communication with associates and leadership.
  • Recognize and celebrate associate accomplishments and contributions.
  • Support associate retention and engagement through consistent leadership, communication, and recognition.
  • Provide leadership and direction to prioritize departmental goals and ensure efficient operations.

Delivering Exceptional Guest Experiences

  • Serve as a visible leader and hospitality role model throughout the Food & Beverage operation.
  • Create memorable guest experiences through genuine, personalized, and attentive service.
  • Monitor service delivery from guest arrival through departure, ensuring consistent execution at every touchpoint.
  • Assist servers, hosts, bartenders, and other team members during peak meal periods and high-demand times.
  • Engage with guests to gather feedback regarding food quality, service, and overall satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and complaints.
  • Empower associates to resolve guest concerns and exceed expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and guest satisfaction.
  • Incorporate guest feedback and satisfaction results into departmental meetings and action plans.
  • Maintain a welcoming and positive atmosphere throughout all Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Ensure special requests and guest preferences are handled with care and attention to detail.

Financial & Operational Performance

  • Support the achievement of Food & Beverage revenue, labor, and profitability goals.
  • Monitor labor levels and productivity to align with business volume.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and product controls.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality and minimize waste.
  • Review operational results and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support departmental forecasting, budgeting, and financial objectives.
  • Ensure operational decisions balance exceptional guest service with sound financial performance.

Seasonal & Task Force Opportunity

  • Successfully complete the seasonal assignment from December 1 through May 1.
  • Based on performance, business needs, and mutual interest, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to transition into a Task Force assignment from May 1 through September 1.
  • Task Force responsibilities may include traveling to and supporting other Pyramid Global Hospitality properties with Food & Beverage leadership, opening/transition support, operational improvements, staffing, training, or other business needs.
  • Candidates interested in continuing beyond the seasonal assignment should be comfortable with potential travel and temporary assignments at other properties.
  • Permanent opportunities may become available following the seasonal/task force assignment based on business needs and available positions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, associates, and other departments by phone, email, written communication, and in person.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to make sound operational decisions.
  • Assist with special events, banquets, group functions, and high-volume periods.
  • Maintain strong communication with Culinary, Front Office, Sales, Housekeeping, and other hotel departments.
  • Support hotel-wide initiatives and operational priorities.
  • Participate in meetings, training programs, and leadership initiatives.
  • Maintain a professional presence and positive attitude while representing the Marriott Phoenix Chandler Hotel and Pyramid Global Hospitality.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous Food & Beverage management experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant, bar, banquet, and/or room service operations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong guest service mindset with a passion for hospitality.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and motivate a diverse team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial information and make sound business decisions.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Willingness to participate in Task Force assignments from May 1 through September 1, if selected for the opportunity.
  • A positive, hands-on leadership style with a commitment to creating exceptional guest and associate experiences.
