Food Bank Delivery Drivers

Description

We are seeking Food Bank Delivery Drivers in Maricopa County, with a focus on outlying areas including Buckeye, Litchfield, Sun City, Anthem, Fountain Hills, Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Apache Junction. Our needs include drivers for our short-term feeding program, delivering within a designated area, and occasional large supply deliveries of pet food. Volunteers with or without trucks are welcome.

We initially respond to disasters with volunteers, then partner with other organizations for regular food delivery with committed volunteers. Assistance is prioritized for disabled individuals, veterans, senior citizens, and those with chronic or terminal illnesses who have pets. Deliveries are typically done in teams of two, meeting at designated sites to pick up food or distribute bags to families, or picking up food at storage facilities for distribution.

Commitments are flexible, ranging from 1-3 hours per day, usually on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Emergency drivers are also needed for short-term opportunities when we receive food offers on short notice.

This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity suitable for couples, friends, or family members to share. Commitments can be made for specific time periods, such as September through December, January through April, or May through June.
