About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented In Room Dining Team Member to join our team in Hudson Yards, NY.
Responsibilities
- Treat guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations.
- Show honesty and integrity, being mindful of personal hygiene and grooming.
- Adhere to hotel Health and Safety guidelines.
- Work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Create positive guest experiences by anticipating needs.
- Prepare the food and beverage outlet for service.
- Ensure tables/trays are clean and set according to established standards.
- Stock all required supplies, condiments, etc. in a timely manner.
- Complete all other established "sidework" as required.
- Stock all guest room minibars according to daily assignments and hotel standards.
- Report damages or required repairs to the manager.
- Prepare guest room usage report for accurate billing.
- Ensure minibar service carts are properly stocked.
- Perform routine checks of inventory and validate expiration dates.
- Retrieve and store minibar inventory from the storeroom.
- Ensure all equipment used during the shift is properly maintained and stored.
- Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
- Have full knowledge of beverages and promotions.
- Absorb and provide accurate information about menu items and orders.
- Follow all established food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Comply with all Work Rules, Safety Standards, and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
- May be assigned other duties at the discretion of management.
Qualifications/Skills
- Satisfactory communication in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
- Attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with minimal supervision.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Professional attitude and verbiage in the workplace.
- Comfortable speaking with guests and effectively anticipating guest needs.
- A “Can Do, positive, Have Fun” attitude.
- Guest Services experience desirable.
- High School graduate or equivalent vocational training.
- Knowledge in POS systems, a plus.
- Flexible schedule (AM, PM, Overnight, Weekends & Holidays).
