About the role

The role of a Food & Beverage Expert at Target provides a unique opportunity to enhance the shopping experience for guests and colleagues alike. This position focuses on ensuring product freshness, maintaining operational standards, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing their needs over tasks.
• Execute Food & Beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, and in-stock routines.
• Follow all food safety requirements and use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
• Work with vendors to maintain and update salesfloor merchandise displays and organize backroom space.
• Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process them according to Target’s policies and procedures.
• Use your knowledge of the store’s offerings to solve issues for guests and improve their experience.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
• Use appropriate PPE and follow equipment control guidelines.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming manner and resolve their specific needs.
• Thank guests for choosing to shop at Target.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old (Bakery Only)
• Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Quickly resolve guest questions
• Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
• Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment

• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays)
• Reliable and prompt attendance necessary
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments
• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
