About the role

The role of a Food & Beverage Expert at Target provides a unique opportunity to enhance the shopping experience for guests by ensuring product freshness, accuracy, and availability. This position requires a dynamic individual who can interact effectively with guests and colleagues, manage inventory, and adhere to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing their needs over tasks.
  • Execute Food & Beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, and in-stock routines.
  • Follow all food safety requirements and use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products.
  • Work with vendors to maintain and update salesfloor merchandise displays and organize backroom space.
  • Locate and process damaged, recalled, or expired items according to Target’s policies.
  • Be knowledgeable about the total store and specific area tools, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment, and follow equipment control guidelines.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU).
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and engaging with them to help solve their specific needs.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (Bakery Only)
  • Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
  • Work both independently and with a team
  • Resolve guest questions quickly
  • Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Qualifications

  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
  • Climb up and down ladders
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Ability to work in an environment that could range from 34°F to -10°F
  • Ability to work in spaces where common allergens may be handled or present
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)

$16.75 USD per hour
