Food and Beverage Attendant

About the role

Part‑time position at the Embassy Suites Des Moines responsible for preparing, presenting, and maintaining the complimentary breakfast and/or evening reception, keeping areas clean and stocked, greeting guests, and supporting food safety and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Set the stage for a great guest experience by preparing, presenting, and maintaining our complimentary breakfast and/or evening reception
• Keep everything clean, stocked, and guest‑ready—buffets, service areas, tables, and equipment
• Greet guests with a friendly, helpful attitude and handle questions or concerns quickly and professionally
• Jump in where needed—whether that’s light food prep, restocking, bussing tables, or supporting bar/service areas
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe, clean environment for guests and team members
• Monitor food quality, proper storage, and temperature standards throughout your shift
• Work as part of a team to keep service running smoothly and efficiently
• Communicate key updates during shift changes to keep everyone aligned
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, and report any issues as needed

Requirements

• No prior experience required; a great attitude and love of teamwork are essential (training provided)
• Restaurant, customer service, or cashier experience preferred
• Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs during your shift
• Flexible availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Pay

Compensation range: $15.00 – $15.75 per hour (actual pay based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location)

Schedule

Part‑time schedule with flexible availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
