About the role
Quad Packaging is seeking Folder/Gluer Operators for our Franklin, WI location. This role involves setting up and operating machinery to automatically fold, glue, and affix inserts, outserts, security tags, and adhesive labels on preprinted stock to meet customer job orders. The position offers competitive pay, shift premiums, and potential paid relocation for highly qualified candidates living over 100 miles from the plant.
Schedule
- 12-hour shift: Thursday - Saturday, 5 PM - 5 AM + $3.00 shift premium
- 3rd Shift: Monday - Friday, 9 PM - 5 AM + $3.00 shift premium (8 hours)
- 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 1 PM - 9 PM + $3.00 shift premium (8 hours)
If hired, you may train on a different shift based on availability.
Responsibilities
- Perform make-ready functions and activate the production process.
- Monitor production and adjust machinery during runs as required.
- Synchronize machine speed to maximize crew output.
- Perform and/or arrange for preventative maintenance according to schedule.
- Record router information and daily production details, such as time spent on tasks and items produced.
- Operate and oversee multiple feeder/gluer operations simultaneously.
- Train workers on folding/gluing machine operations, feeding, and take-off functions.
- Cross-train as assigned.
Examples of powered equipment used: Folding and gluing machines, automatic sealing equipment, inserters, tape heads, computers, trash compactors, automatic labelers (EAM), and roller-conveyor tables.
Requirements
- Previous experience with Bobst Expertfold 110, Domino 110, Mistral 110, Masterfold 15, or Domino 90 Folder/Gluer (other makes/models considered).
- Able to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Read, speak, and understand English to interpret instructions, job orders, and production sheets.
- Communicate problems and malfunctions to co-workers and management.
- Familiarity with production and processing, including inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and manufacturing techniques.
- Troubleshooting skills to analyze processes, identify errors, and generate solutions.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to lift 10-15 pounds continuously and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Pay
Competitive starting wage with potential to earn up to $25 or more for experienced Folder/Gluer Operators. Shift premiums of $3.00 per hour apply.
