Folder/Gluer Operator
About the role
This position involves operating and adjusting gluer machines to produce high-quality printed packaging material according to customer specifications. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, monitoring operation, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Operates and adjusts gluer machine, troubleshoots, and monitors operation.
- Prepares gluer by performing tasks to produce consistent, high-quality product.
- Resolves defects and makes adjustments to ensure high-quality product.
- Oversees technicians and processes product efficiently.
- Maintains speed and quality during production.
- Ensures quality of jobs completed by reviewing and correcting errors.
- Supports and communicates ISO standards and quality objectives to the team.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Uses safety equipment and follows hazardous material handling procedures.
- Communicates accurately and professionally with team members.
- Motivates and trains the team to improve work performance.
- Conducts team meetings and performs any additional tasks as requested.
Requirements
- High School diploma (or GED).
- Minimum of 3 years of Folder/Gluer equipment operation within the food packaging industry.
- Experience with Bobst Alpina, Expertfold, and/or Heidelburg gluer preferred.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending, and reaching.
- Frequent lifting in excess of 30 lbs.
- Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to rotate shifts and work extended hours as needed.
